Do you find yourself getting frustrated during Savasana?
Do you find yourself getting frustrated during Savasana?
As soon as you think you’ve relaxed, you realise that your mind is actually off thinking about what you’re going to have for lunch?
Or you say to yourself, “Oh yes, my mind is relaxed, I’m not thinking! — oh sh*t wait, that was a thought in itself.”
You know what, if your mind is busy, good. No problem.
If it’s hard, you’re probably doing it right.
The purpose of Savasana is not to empty your mind completely, it’s to find a present awareness that we rarely experience throughout the day.
It’s a moment to slow down, pause and reflect on the quality of your inner landscape.
How do you feel physically, emotionally, energetically and mentally?
Is there something you’re holding onto that’s perhaps out of your control and is causing inner tension?
Can you let it go?
Can you accept yourself, your body, your mind and your Spirit as it is right now?
When you can accept, you can surrender.
In this space, your inner spirit can shine a little brighter, without being crowed by the baggage and the noise.
You will start to feel your spirit in the moments between each thought and in the moments between each breath.
As you focus on this aliveness within you, it will only grow louder and shine brighter.
Do this every day.
And maybe the still, silence within will start to dissolve all of the other noise and leave you simply resting in conscious awareness.
You’ll start to get to know the real you, the deepest you and the highest you.
That is Savasana.
